"Getting a quote and getting set up was easy here, but it turned into quite an unpleasant and expensive experience quickly afterwards. My premium amount changed *at the fault of State Farm* for accidentally bundling me in the same "category" as my parents, with whom I am NOT insured. I entered State Farm to create a policy of my own, and explicitly stated multiple times to keep me independent from my parents (who have many tickets). The underwriters changed the policy MONTHS after my quote, which is quite a long time by itself! And then it DOUBLED for no fault of my own! Not only was the (Hornell) office not clear in why they couldn't issue me a refund based on a mistake on THEIR part, but it was also not well communicated to me about the change in premium to start--I got no email whatsoever about it. They even refused to re-evaluate my premium until the period was up, despite this being a clear mistake at State Farm's hands, which would make me pay double for an additional 5 months. The only good part of this experience was that calling the 800 customer support was easy to cancel the policy, and I found a better rate to begin with from Geico."
